岡野 智史 Satoshi Okano
岡野智史が独自に開発した技法をもとにエアブラシで描くアクリル画の作品は、注意深く吹きつけられた絵の具が画布の上でピクセル状に分割され、線は滲み曖昧で、ピントの合わない図像は低解像度の映像のようでもあり、画面自体が発光しているようにみえます。アクリル画の作品のモチーフは昔のテレビアニメの一場面や古雑誌から抽出、また最近ではAIとの共同作業から生成されており、作家の個人的な思いや意図と一定の距離を保つことで、対象物をどのように描くかという試験的な探求に注力しています。一方油彩画と鉛筆画は、描いては消してを繰り返し、画面に浮かびあがる図像を探ることだと岡野は言います。岡野のエアブラシで描かれた絵画は、形（型・線）から始まり、上から絵具を吹付けて画布に染み込ませることで境界をぼかして光を表現するのに対して、油彩画と鉛筆画は、イメージを現像をするように、画面の内側から形を浮かびあがらせることによって対象物に光をあて、その存在を露わにしていきます。

Okano paints unconventional and humorous landscapes using airbrush and pencil techniques that he has developed himself.
The theme of his work is to consider the subject matter and experiment with techniques, and the discrepancies that arise are the appeal of his work.
The artworks of acrylic paintings created with the technique developed independently by Okano involve carefully sprayed paint, which is divided into pixel-like segments on the canvas. The lines appear blurred and indistinct, and the out-of-focus images resemble low-resolution visuals, giving the impression that the screen itself is emitting light.
The motifs of acrylic paintings are extracted from scenes of old TV animations or vintage magazines. Recently, they are also generated through collaborative work with AI. The artist focuses on experimental exploration by maintaining a certain distance from personal thoughts and intentions, examining how to depict the subject matter.
On the other hand, Okano says that oil paintings and pencil drawings as a process of repeatedly drawing and erasing, exploring the emerging images on the canvas.
While acrylic paintings created with an airbrush start with shapes (lines) and attempt to express light by blurring boundaries through the absorption of paint into the canvas from the surface, on the other hand, oil paintings and pencil drawings, as if developing an image, illuminate the subject by bringing shapes to the surface from within the screen, making their presence evident.
林 菜穂 Nao Hayashi
わたしは絵を描く際に必要な材料を、意識して選択するようにしている。生きていく上で関わりの深い、例えば植物を煮出して顔料化し絵画に使用する。「暮らし」の上で必要な素材を材料に選ぶことで、生きることと絵を描くことをつなぎ、日々を暮らしていく為に最低限もしくは過剰に摂取あるいは窃取する人間以外の動植物らのことなどを絵などをかきながら考える。
わたしは無意識に絵を描くのではなく、古典技法を学び直し、材料の選択を意識的にするようにしている。
例えば牛乳からカゼインを抽出し下地材に使用したり、植物を煮出して顔料にして絵具にしたりして絵画に使用する。身の回りのもの、自分に深く関わりがあるものを材料に選ぶことで、生きることと絵を描くことをつなぎ、更に深めようとしている。 林菜穂

Born in Chiba in 1992, Japan.
Majored in Oil Painting at Musashino Art University.
Graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018.
Completed the Master's Program in the Department of Fine Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, specializing in Oil Painting Technique and Material department in 2020.
When I draw, I consciously choose the materials needed for the painting.
I engage with materials closely connected to my life, such as boiling down plants to create pigments for painting.
By selecting materials based on the necessities of "living," I aim to bridge the gap between the act of living and creating art. While contemplating daily existence, I ponder aspects of non-human life, including animals and plants, which are either minimally or excessively taken or stolen by humans, all while expressing these thoughts through my artwork.
Rather than drawing unconsciously, I make a conscious effort to relearn classical techniques and actively choose my materials. For instance, I extract casein from milk for use as a ground material or create pigments from boiled-down plants to incorporate into my paintings. By selecting materials from my immediate surroundings and those deeply connected to my own life, I strive to deepen the connection between living and creating art. Nao Yahashi
