岡野 智史 Satoshi Okano
Biography
1979年生まれ、埼玉県出身。 2004年に武蔵野美術大学造形学部油絵学科卒業。 現在は東京都をベースに活動。
エアブラシや鉛筆を用いて独自に開発した技法を用いた奇妙でユーモラスな風景を描く。
対象についての考察と技法の実験などが制作のテーマで、そこから生まれる齟齬が作品の魅力。
Born in Saitama in 1979, currently based in Tokyo, Japan. Majored in Oil Painting at Musashino Art University.
Okano paints unconventional and humorous landscapes using airbrush and pencil techniques that he has developed himself.
The theme of his work is to consider the subject matter and experiment with techniques, and the discrepancies that arise are the appeal of his work.

Works
岡野は絵画の中で”光”を表現する際、キャンバスをモニターととらえることで、映像のような絵画を目指して描いています。
作品のモチーフは古い80年代のアニメの１シーンから抽出されており、作家の個人的な意識の外の出来事として、距離感を持って描くことにより、鑑賞者がどこかで観たことのあるような視覚の残像に近づいていきます。
The blurry and unclear outlined painting is the iconic feature of Okano’s work.
By considering canvas as a TV monitor, he is able to capture and express the light in the painting. 80’s cartoons are the motif of his works which makes the audience feel familiar and sympathetic because of the time period of the cartoon. It is also able to get a glimpse of Okano's personal consciousness in the work which is very sympathetic to the viewer as if they recall something they have seen or imprinted afterimages at some point in the past.
