この度CLEAR GALLERY TOKYOでは、岡本羽衣による 「That’s that / ただ、それだけのこと」展を開催致します。 
本展は、10月15日から当ギャラリーのビューイングルームで開催している岡本の「Daily Works - 突き落とされる日々」展と連動した展示として、新作の油彩画を発表いたします。
また、絵画制作と並びに岡本にとって重要な表現である、自身の身体つかったパフォーマンスを、11月13日（日）に開催いたします。

街を歩いていると、時折通りすがりに聞こえてくる誰かの言葉。
何もない巨大な水槽に、不意にちいさな魚が入り込んだみたいに、僕の中で彼らの言葉が自分の中に落ちていくのを感じる。
見知らぬ誰かが話す断片的なその台詞は、何かが起こり始める予感のようなものでもなく、物語の終わりを意味するものでもない。
汚ならしい言葉、事務的な会話、痛々しい話、やさしい声、惨めな独り言。そんなとるにたらない小さな言葉のひとつひとつが、僕の体内で循環している。
僕は彼らの言葉を繰り返し口ずさみ、家に帰ってその言葉を自分の描いた絵にあてがってみる。
絵に残された僕のしつこい手痕は、その画面の中で絶えず生成し続け、ざわめき、やがて静けさが訪れる。
その時には、もう誰かの言葉の魚が、僕のところから抜け出して絵の中でしっかり泳いでいる。
僕はタイトルがついたばかりの絵から離れて、しばらくそこで起きている状況を椅子に座りながら、眺めていた。
そうやって長い時間、眺めていると、突然、僕の後ろで誰かがささやく。とても落ち着いた感じで。

1990年生まれ。
絵画、パフォーマンスを中心に制作する。日常に潜む人間の感情や心理行動を観察し、収集することで、普段わたしたちが見落とし、蓋をするような出来事に付随する不快な質を描き出す。
パフォーマンスでは、特に社会的な規律性から外されたアブノーマルとされる人物の心理を探るため、岡本自身の身体を媒介とした「模倣」を繰り返し行う。ここでは暗黙的に理解できない他者を排斥しようとする社会への疑念や抵抗があり、誰しもが抱える精神の揺らぎや苦悩に対して表現者の立場から向き合おうとする岡本の試みが読み取れる。
「クオリタティヴ・エヴィデンス（質的証拠）」という岡本がつくり出した概念から描かれる絵画作品では、キャンバス上の多様な質感によって、鑑賞者に内在する個人的な経験や記憶（岡本は「証拠」と呼ぶ）を触発することで、観る者の心理的な質の想起を試みる。
岡本は、社会に生まれる多様な存在の質を同等に問い、わたしたち人間の深淵に踏み込むことで、一括りでは語れない「人間らしさ」を肯定し、表現の中でつかもうとしている

Born in 1990.
Hagoromo Okamoto’s works mainly in the fields of painting and performance. By observing and collecting human emotions and psychological behaviours latent in everyday life, Okamoto depicts the unpleasant qualities that accompany events that we usually overlook or cover-up.
In the performance, Okamoto repeatedly performs "mimicry" mediated by his own body in order to explore the psychology of the abnormal, especially those who are removed from social discipline. Here, there is a suspicion of and resistance to a society that implicitly tries to exclude others it does not understand, and we can read Okamoto's attempt to confront the mental vacillation and anguish that everyone faces from the standpoint of an expressive artist.
In his paintings based on Okamoto's concept of “Qualitative Evidence," he attempts to evoke psychological qualities by evoking the viewer's own experiences and memories through the various qualities of the paintings. Okamoto calls such deep-seated personal feelings and experiences "evidence.
By questioning the qualities of the various beings that emerge in society in equal measure, and by plunging into the depths of our humanity, Okamoto seeks to affirm and grasp in his expression a "humanity" that cannot be described in one lump sum.
