CLEAR GALLERY TOKYOのビューイングルームにて、岡本羽衣による 「Daily Works - 突き落とされる日々」展を開催致します。 

「絵を描く時、僕は僕ではない誰かになろうと努める。
路上で薄汚い身体を掻きむしる人、一人で悪態をつきながら街を歩く人、何かに執着している人、悲しそうに笑う人、靴底のすり減り具合を気にする人、恥ずかしがって下を向く人、何に怒りを向けていいかわからず腹を立てる人、「おめでとう」の言葉を最後にいなくなる人、疲れきってもう話すことがない人、もしくは、忘れられた人々。
そういった不特定多数の他者の内実を知りたくて、僕は誰かになろうとする。
でも結局のところ、いまここで描いているのは僕でしかなくて、それでも僕はなんとか自分という存在を崖から突き落とそうとする。
落とされる僕も必死に身体で抵抗する。
僕ともうひとりの僕は、日々そのやりとりを繰り返している、あきることなく毎日。」

When I paint, I try to become someone who is not me.
Someone who scratches his dirty body on the street, someone who walks alone in the city swearing, someone who is obsessed with something, someone who smiles sadly, someone who worries about the worn soles of his shoes, someone who looks down in embarrassment, someone who is angry because he does not know what to be angry about, someone who disappears after saying "Congratulations," someone who is so tired that he Those who have nothing more to say, or those who have been forgotten.
I try to be someone, to know the realities of these unspecified others.
But in the end, what I am depicting here and now is only me. Even so, I try to push myself off the cliff.
I, who am being pushed off the cliff, desperately resist with my body.
I and the other me repeat this exchange day after day, without end.

1990年生まれ。
絵画、パフォーマンスを中心に制作する。日常に潜む人間の感情や心理行動を観察し、収集することで、普段わたしたちが見落とし、蓋をするような出来事に付随する不快な質を描き出す。
パフォーマンスでは、特に社会的な規律性から外されたアブノーマルとされる人物の心理を探るため、岡本自身の身体を媒介とした「模倣」を繰り返し行う。ここでは暗黙的に理解できない他者を排斥しようとする社会への疑念や抵抗があり、誰しもが抱える精神の揺らぎや苦悩に対して表現者の立場から向き合おうとする岡本の試みが読み取れる。
「クオリタティヴ・エヴィデンス（質的証拠）」という岡本がつくり出した概念から描かれる絵画作品では、絵がもつ多様な質によって鑑賞者自身に内在する個人的な経験や記憶を触発することで心理的な質の想起を試みる。またこのような個人の奥底にある感情や経験自体を、岡本は「証拠」と呼ぶ。岡本は、社会に生まれる多様な存在の質を同等に問い、わたしたち人間の深淵に踏み込むことで、一括りでは語れない「人間らしさ」を肯定し、表現の中でつかもうとしている

Born in 1990.
Hagoromo Okamoto’s works mainly in the fields of painting and performance. By observing and collecting human emotions and psychological behaviours latent in everyday life, Okamoto depicts the unpleasant qualities that accompany events that we usually overlook or cover-up.
In the performance, Okamoto repeatedly performs "mimicry" mediated by his own body in order to explore the psychology of the abnormal, especially those who are removed from social discipline. Here, there is a suspicion of and resistance to a society that implicitly tries to exclude others it does not understand, and we can read Okamoto's attempt to confront the mental vacillation and anguish that everyone faces from the standpoint of an expressive artist.
In his paintings based on Okamoto's concept of “Qualitative Evidence," he attempts to evoke psychological qualities by evoking the viewer's own experiences and memories through the various qualities of the paintings. Okamoto calls such deep-seated personal feelings and experiences "evidence.
By questioning the qualities of the various beings that emerge in society in equal measure, and by plunging into the depths of our humanity, Okamoto seeks to affirm and grasp in his expression a "humanity" that cannot be described in one lump sum.
