この度CLEAR GALLERY TOKYOでは小町渉の個展 “Time's Up (Pokemon Go! Home)” を開催いたします。
小町はコラージュ、ペインティング、写真など様々な手法を用いて作品を制作しており、今の時代性を示唆する言語やモード、またその文化と社会的問題を、軽快に独自のセンスを持って、作品に落とし込み表現しています。あまりに膨大で、日常という時間の流れの中を通過している、情報や言葉に切り込んだ、小町渉の辛辣かつユーモア溢れる新作をぜひご覧いただけましたら幸いです。

今日僕たちはソーシャルネットワークの革新的な発達と浸透により生まれた 現実と非現実(虚構)の世界に身をおいている毎日配信される無数のニュースはまるでエンターテイメントのように装飾され報道されるフェイクニュースは極めてこの時代を象徴する1つのツールでありそれは視点を変えてみれば新しいお伽話のように思えてならないそして僕たちは新しい寓話の世界の中のパレードに知らぬうちに加わっている子供であるまるで2019年版のグリム童話のような…
これらの現代のストーリーは数十年数百年後にはきっと1950年代の話をするように古き良き時代として語られていると思う僕はそれをまるで原始人のように絵に残したいと思った

CLEAR GALLERY TOKYO is proud to announce “Time's Up (Pokemon Go! Home),” a solo exhibition by Wataru Komachi.
Komachi uses collage, painting, photography, and various other methods in his artistic practice to express current social climates and the buzzwords of our shared cultural vernacular with a distinct sense of playfulness. Still, his scope is not so wide as to be overwhelming, with a focus on how these phenomena become part of the everyday and banal. We hope that viewers will enjoy Komachi's humorous and incisive montages of information, language, and visual culture.

Marching Song for Pokemon and the Pied Piper Today, we are born into the explosive development and omnipotence of social networksExisting in the worlds of the real and unreal (i.e. fictional)Innumerable news headlines are reported daily, adorning our lives as entertainmentFake News is very much a methodology symbolic of this era Or, from another viewpoint, these are today’s fairy talesAnd in this contemporary fable realm, we are the children unknowingly getting absorbed into the parade, the Grimm’s Tales of 2019…
In a few decades or centuries, I anticipate that these present-day narratives too will, like the 1950s today, be framed in a nostalgic lens
This is what I, in the manner of a primitive human, want to record in the form of these drawings.
